Queen + Adam Lambert, Las Vegas

As you all know, I'm a bit of a Queen nut.

So when the chance to see Queen + Adam Lambert  play at their residence at Park MGM in Las Vegas, Sam and myself just had to take it.

Luckily, there was a 2 week gap in The Searchers schedule. So a few emails later to Frank, John and Alan Field and the dates were blocked out, tickets booked and thanks to lots of friends (Tony Bourke, Frank Brennan & Roger) flights and hotels booked.

Sam has always wanted to stay in a castle, so I booked us into Excalibur, which is a castle, ish and very near Park MGM, which just happens to be next to New York, New York.

The new Park MGM theatre holds 5200 people, designed so everyone gets a perfect view. The venue really is impressive and the sound was perfect. The show its self... Perfect for Vegas. The band looked relaxed with the no travelling and Adam fronted the band as if he had been doing it from day one.

Yes he's no Freddie Mercury, he's not trying to be, but in Adam Lambert, Queen are reborn and musicians like Brian and Roger should be allowed to be playing these vast arenas.

Sam and myself arrived in Las Vegas on Monday 17th, saw the show on the 19th and left for the UK on the 21st. Vegas is very warm in September, but its a place we both really love.
